Windows 10 will be release on July 27th.
I have been using the technical preview of Windows 10 for the past and I love it. All the speed improvements of Windows 8 without trying to force the hard use metro interface and apps on you. Functions like search and the Start Menu are actually improved this time around and not needlessly changed like they were in Windows 8.
I have found a few things I’m not exactly fond of though. there is a new settings app which I assume is an attempt to replace the old control panel which I find confusing. Like in windows 8 though the old version of all the applications and snap-ins are still there you just have to know how to bring them up or set them as default.
Installation was a breeze. It’s treated more like a giant service pack then a full on OS upgrade. Download click a few confirmations and 20 minutes later you have Windows 10 with all your settings and programs in place. Also like service packs this will be a free upgrade for windows 7 and 8 users.
